PETITION TO DEMAND AN END TO SANCTUARY POLICIES IN THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO

We the people of the city and county of San Diego concur with the findings of Congress of the United States of America that San Diego is operating as a sanctuary city, in defiance of federal law and the will of the people of the United States and San Diego. Evidence on the streets and in the neighborhoods, parks and other lands within the city contradict the positions stated by the Mayor and other city officials regarding San Diego's sanctuary city status. It is clear the current policies in practice by the San Diego Police department favor the perceived rights of ILLEGAL ALIENS over the constitutional rights of CITIZENS of the City and the United States. We the undersigned do hereby petition that the mayor and city council enact IMMEDIATE changes to city and Police Department policy so as to cause the San Diego Police Department to fully cooperate with federal immigration enforcement personnel and comply with all federal laws, including and especially those regarding determination of the legal status of ANYONE who may be suspected of being in our country and our city illegally. We vote and we are active in communicating with our peers the importance of this issue and the necessity for the people we elect to work for US to do what is right.
